Bagel joined Lucky Bulldogs after being released from the commercial breeding industry. He is the sweetest boy! You would never know he has never been a pet. He loves loafing on the couch, sunning his buns, and playing with toys.
This big lug loves his foster siblings, four-legged and two-legged! He loves being with his people and spends most of his time relaxing, but he also loves snuggling and giving lots of kisses. When he's ready to play, he is READY! His zoomies are quite the show. As you can imagine, he's just not that graceful and comes in like a wrecking ball!
He sleeps in bed with us most of the time on a heated blanket, and his snoring can be quite the house shaker. He can and will sleep in the kennel, but man, oh man, would he love to have a heated blanket at your house! There was a time when the kids didn't latch the kennel, and he spent the day out. I could watch him on the camera, and of course, he was the perfect boy and just napped on the couch. Speaking of the sofa, Bagel has mastered the doggy stairs to get on and off and hopes his future home will let him do the same.
Bagel is potty trained! He goes to the door, sits, and waits for his human to let him out to potty. It is now very rare that he has an accident, if at all! He has learned how to be a great pet since he's been in foster care.
Bagel has been neutered, vaccinated, and had his teeth cleaned. He was released from the breeding industry because of his hips. He has pretty typical "Bulldog Hips," and he gets around just fine. The vet is unconcerned about them and feels that Bagel is unbothered by his hips. Bagel sometimes has quite a cough, but it is due to Brachycephalic Syndrome. Whenever he coughs, we say, "He's just yakkin' on a bone, Clark." His cough is part of his charm and doesn't bother him.
Bagel is a great boy, and we have grown to love him very much. Whoever gets him will be very lucky to love him, too.
While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted. Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above. Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications. All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes. Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters. Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.
All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.
We typically will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks, but we do notify all applicants of the outcome.
