Hello, Karl here!! I recently joined the rescue through no fault of my own. I have had a couple of homes, but it hasn't affected me one bit. I make myself comfy wherever I go, as long as someone is around to give me pets and love. I especially love belly rubs and cheek squeezes.
You may have noticed my size and generally potato-shaped body. I may not be the most petite Bulldog you have ever seen, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying life. It's just at my own speed, which is slow. Like so, so, so slow. Sometimes, I require a gentle tush nudge to get me moving. Maybe it's my inner Bulldog, or perhaps I like my booty scratched; you'll never know.
Like I said, I'm just a big ol' 'tato that likes to lounge around. I don't enjoy walks as getting this big 'ol body going far just isn't very easy. If you don't mind an amble to the mailbox and back, great! However, the longer walks aren't my thing so put me in a wagon, and I'm set... LET'S GO!! Oh, and cars, I love riding in them. I doze off into la la land and am pleasantly surprised when we wake up at our destination.
Speaking of la la land, I do sleep A LOT!!! I'll admit it, big ole snoozer! I can sleep all night long in my cozy kennel. Just don't put a blanket or anything in with me, as I tend to pee on it. But if it's just me in there, I can go all night without accidents. Snoring isn't anything to worry about with me. I am just like a kitty and gently purr a bit. HEHE! I know, strange for a bulldog, isn't it?? You're welcome!
I would love to find a furever home that wants to love me forever. I'm tired of moving around. So, if you want the biggest 'tato in the land that has lots of love to give, I'm your man!!! I'll even reach out with my paw to let you know I need a hand to rub this big ol' belly. Are you ready?? Let's do this!!
While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted. Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above. Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications. All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes. Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters. Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.
All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.
We typically will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks, but we do notify all applicants of the outcome.
