Hi there! My name is Brownie, and I'm a 2-year-old spayed English Bulldog with quite a story to tell.
For the first part of my life, I worked as a breeder mom at an Amish facility. But after a little soul-searching (and what I like to call my Rumspringa era), I've decided that the traditional breeder life just isn't for me. I've officially chosen the English Bulldog pet lifestyle: couch naps, belly rubs, snacks, and being called a good girl for absolutely no reason at all.
I'm a sweet, energetic girl who loves people, pets, and making dog friends. I'm still learning what it means to be someone's beloved pet, so some things are new and a little confusing. Leashes, toys, couches, and all the weird human stuff? I'm figuring it out one day at a time. The good news? I'm already proving to be a star student! I've been doing great with potty training and haven't had any accidents in my foster home.
I'm also working on becoming more comfortable in my kennel. Sometimes I do great and settle in nicely, especially when things are calm and I can see one of my doggy friends nearby. However, if I can't see a friend or there are loud noises around me, I can become anxious in my kennel. My foster family is helping me build confidence, and with patience, consistency, and reassurance, I'm making progress every day.
My ideal family understands that while I may be new to the pet life, I'm fully committed to it. Think of me as a recent career changer—I'm leaving the breeder industry behind and pursuing my true passion: professional companion. If you're looking for a lovable, goofy girl who will reward your patience with endless affection and bulldog charm, I think we might be a perfect match.
While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted. Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above. Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications. All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes. Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters. Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.
All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.
We typically will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks, but we do notify all applicants of the outcome.
