Hey there! I’m Bubba, and I’m here to share a bit about myself—grab some popcorn, this might take a minute! I found my way to Lucky Bulldogs Rescue after being released from a breeder, and I’m a sprightly 7 years young. That’s right, 7! Just imagine all the snuggles I’ve missed out on, being a cuddly potato! I tip the scales at a dainty 28 pounds, and some folks say I resemble a fluffy little bear cub thanks to my adorable short ears. This new chapter of life has been a dream come true, but now all I need is a special person or family to share it with!
Now, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty. I might be a bit of a late bloomer when it comes to mastering stairs, but guess what? I’ve graduated! I will also require a set next to the bed or couch so I can climb up to join you for snuggles—or make a mad dash back down A fenced yard would be a bonus for my outdoor escapades, so I can run around without worrying about getting lost. I’m proud to say I know the potty routine, although sometimes I just can’t hold it! We’re getting there, though, with my foster mom’s endless patience. I might be 7, but trust me, I’ve still got plenty of pep in my step – keeping up with my younger fur siblings. I adore being close to my hoomans—seriously, what’s personal space? It doesn’t exist in my world! I love playing with toys and will chase what you throw. Retrieving…catch me if you can!
Oh, and I almost forgot something important! My foster home already came with a few dog pals, and we hit it off right away. I might get a bit too excited sometimes and invade their space, but we all know love can be a little overwhelming! I’m cool with every furry friend I’ve met. As for cats? Well, they’re a mystery to me—I think I’d be curious enough to say hello! Just remember, slow introductions for my future fur siblings would work best.
When it comes to snoozing, I’m learning to cozy up in my kennel. I might give a little protest now and then, but then I settle down both day and night. However, deep down I relish the comfort of being near my humans. If you invite me to cuddle in bed, I promise to keep things warm and snug.
On the health front, I’m good as gold! I’ve been neutered, and my ears and eyes stay clean (though my foster mom still gives them a quick check—better safe than sorry!). I had quite a few teeth removed, but don’t worry, I’ve still got plenty left to chew my favorite toys! I’m ready for adventures, so walking and getting up, and down is a breeze for me.
So, here’s the deal: I would make the absolute best after-Christmas gift, complete with a cheerful red bow. All I want is someone to shower me with love and cuddles for the rest of my days. If you think you could be that special someone please apply. I can’t wait to hop (with a little butt lift) right into your lap and heart.
While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted. Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above. Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications. All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes. Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters. Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.
All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.
We typically will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks, but we do notify all applicants of the outcome.
