Our mission at Lucky Bulldogs Rescue is to rescue as many brachycephalic (short snout) dogs as we can from the commercial breeding system. We rehabilitate, evaluate, and adopt them out to loving forever homes so they can experience the spoiled pet life after spending their first years being bred. We also occasionally take dogs who were being re-homed online or if owners contact us to surrender their dog.
Lucky Bulldogs Rescue focuses on English Bulldogs, French Bulldogs, Pugs, Boston Terriers, and other short-nosed breeds we like to call the smushie faces. All our dogs are fostered in the homes of volunteers who work hard to gain the dogs' trust and teach them that positive human interaction is possible while also maintaining medical care and sometimes dealing with dogs with special needs.
Lucky Bulldogs Rescue is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization. No one, including Board Members, associated with the rescue gets paid, and 100% of the money used to care for, provide for, and rehabilitate our dogs comes from adoption fees, donations, and fundraisers.

Lucky Bulldogs Rescue has foster homes in Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota and Missouri. We do adopt to all over the US and Canada as long as the chosen forever home is willing to pick up their dog at their listed foster location.
When we accept new dogs into the LBR Family, each are vetted and behaviorally assessed to best be able to know what type of forever home environment would be best for each dog. We announce our new arrivals on our website and social media pages and will sometimes have updates on them as they progress through the foster process. Occasionally we will have meet & greet events where you can meet current foster dogs, but we do not set up individual meetings with any of our dogs.
When we determine our dogs are ready to find their forever homes, we will create a page on our website dedicated to each individual dog with photos and information about that dog's health, behavior, likes, dislikes, foster location, adoption fee, and special needs, if any. We will post the links to our dogs' "About" pages on social media to notify our followers that we have published full details and have begun accepting applications for that dog. If you read about a dog who you feel would be a good fit for your family, please fill out an application on that specific dog using the link on his or her "About" page. All our dogs have unique personalities, preferences, and needs. Our goal is to get our dogs into the perfect forever homes, so we do not pre-approve applications.
Our adoption fees are based on age, health and breed. All dogs are altered (spayed or neutered), thoroughly vetted, up to date on shots and heartworm testing/medication before being adopted to their forever homes. We adopt to anywhere in the US and Canada as long as applicants are willing to come and pick up the dog at the listed foster location if chosen as that dog's forever family.
We will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks. In cases of overwhelming popularity, we will stop accepting applications early after giving notice on social media. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to six weeks.
Please contact us using the form below and let us know what type of dog you have (we are limited to specific breeds and breed crosses), where you are located and what your reason for surrendering is. We will get back to you and request additional information or attempt to provide resources in your area if we cannot assist.
Our ability to help depends on the dog's location or ability to be transported to an available foster home and an available foster home to meet the specific needs of the dog.
Please keep in mind we are a volunteer based foster home rescue so we often do not have the ability to immediately take on a dog in need.
