Coco Chanel or Coco for short joined the Lucky Bulldogs life after being surrendered by her owners due to a change in family circumstances. She took no time at all for her to settle into her new digs with her two foster Frenchie brothers. They were a little confused at first because she is considered a Fluffy Frenchie and has longer hair and one floppy ear!
Coco is an amazing Frenchie puppy and full of life and energy. If she isn’t taking every toy out of the toy box or entertaining herself by flipping bones in the air, she is crashing hard and falling asleep in the middle of the floor. In true Frenchie fashion, Coco has big bursts of energy and wants all the attention, but then must recharge with several naps throughout the day. She is currently her foster Dads shadow, but when he is busy, she is always trying to get her foster brothers to play with her. She has no problem rough housing and jumping on them to get their attention if they are ignoring her. She hasn’t experienced any cats around in her current home, but Coco doesn’t seem to have a mean bone in her body and so far is as happy-go-lucky as they come. She loves everyone and everything!
Coco is crate trained and currently hangs out there when her foster family is out of the house. She also sleeps in her crate at night, as that is a house rule in her foster family home. She would, however, LOVE to sleep in bed with her humans. At night she turns into a complete cuddle bug and loves to be laying as close to you as possible (if you don’t let her lay directly on you, of course). She fully sleeps through the night and recharges for the next day of adventure!
Coco has been doing very well with house training and going to the bathroom outside. She has yet have any accidents in her crate and has only had a few in her foster families house, but this is all new and it’s cold! They have found that as long as she is going outside regularly, she has been accident free. She even stands by the back door now when she needs to go out, but be quick, because if she’s there, she has to go!
Coco is also leash trained and ready for walks (as soon as it gets warm out again of course). She is spayed and has a clean bill of health. This happy little gremlin is an absolute dream to foster and is truly a Frenchie full of energy and excitement! She is inquisitive, loves to cuddle and play and will make a great addition to a welcoming home with love and stability to give her.
While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted. Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above. Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications. All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes. Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters. Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.
All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.
We typically will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks, but we do notify all applicants of the outcome.
