Hi!! My name is Cowboy! I am 7 years young! I am the bestest boy! I love all dogs. My foster mom has 5 others besides me. I am good with all of my foster brothers and sisters. I also have cat siblings as well. I am really good with the baby ones! I share the backyard with chickens and a pig and I don't pay them much mind at all. I go out and do my business and am ready to come back in and chill. I am a big lug of a couch potato! I was neutered the end of June and have healed up great. I do have a couple bald spots on my back from a skin infection. Those are healing well. I do great in the bath and getting my toe nails clipped. Sometimes mom has to wipe my butt after I poop, but I don't mind that. I don't really care for the nose butter applications, but I tolerate it..it always ends with pats and a cookie. I LOVE cookies. My doctor says I'm pretty deaf, mom gets my attention with a whistle. If I can see you, I'm right with you. I sleep in my kennel, by my choice. I have only had a couple accidents in there, but that was very early on in my foster adventure, when things were new and scary. My foster mom loved me through those times. I hardly bark, when I do, it's very brief. I do wear a belly band if I'm gonna be inside unattended. I am working on the going to the bathroom outside and I'm doing really well. My foster mom has me on a great schedule. I eat 2 times a day! I hope I find my forever home soon because I am the goodest boy with the most love to give!
Love,
Cowboy
While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted. Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above. Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications. All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes. Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters. Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.
All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.
We typically will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks, but we do notify all applicants of the outcome.
