All About Dee Dee

  Dee Dee, the loveable, snuggleable, kissable, huggable Frenchie joined Lucky Bulldogs after her owner could no longer care for her. She is two years old, spayed, and up to date on vaccinations. Dee Dee sleeps quietly in her kennel while Foster Ma and Pa are at work and at night. She occasionally naps with Foster Ma and LOVES IT! She would really like to sleep with you all the time if that’s ok. If you do let her into the bed, be prepared to lose all sense of personal space. She likes to sleep right next you. Dee Dee walks fairly well on a leash. It seems to be new to her, but she’s catching on. It really helps when the resident dogs join the walk because she just follows the leader. 

Dee Dee loves everyone she meets, young and old, two and four legged! She doesn’t seem to mind cats.  She enjoys playing with people and dogs. She does like to jump up when she greets you, so older children may be best.

Dee Dee comes with her own theme song; Foster Ma will teach you the melody, but the words are: Dumb Dumb Dee Dee, Dumb Dumb da Deedy Deedy. Not to be mean, but our girl isn’t the deepest thinker, and that’s ok with us! You don’t need working dog to herd sheep; you need a couch potato to keep you warm while you watch your shows. She can be taught though, she’s figured out the dog door, pottying outside (mostly) and she definitely knows the sound of treat bag being opened. Treat time is when you get to experience the Dee Dee Dance. Her dance is a hilarious combination of prancing, rearing, and jumping while she snorts and snuffles with her eyes bugging out of her head. While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted.  Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above.  Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications.  All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes.  Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters.  Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.

All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages. 

We typically will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks, but we do notify all applicants of the outcome.
