Leo is your quintessential bulldog. He’s a chunky, lazy, handsome ball of love with so much personality! He naps all day long. Any time, any place. He has a special place in his heart for air vents. The second he hears them turn on, he’ll run right over to get a cool breeze on his belly. The best combo is a nap on top of an air vent. Talk about luxury! Leo loves to play with a squeaky toy or bone when he's not sleeping. Make sure to move your valuables out of the way! He’s a wild one during playtime and loves to fetch!
Leo can be stubborn and sassy at times…he is a bulldog, after all. If he’s feeling feisty and wants a toy that his foster dog sibling has, he’ll stand there and bark until he gets his way. Or if he’s in the middle of zoomies, he’ll try to jump on his sister. He doesn’t mean any harm—just Leo being Leo! He listens well and stops when told no.
He’s fully potty trained and will happily do his business in a fenced backyard. Leo walks well on a leash but prefers his backyard bathroom breaks rather than on walks.
He doesn’t mind his kennel one bit. While his foster mom works from home, he will go in there and take naps. He currently sleeps in the kennel at night but also loves a cozy bed or couch. When left home alone, he naps peacefully in his kennel as well.
Leo is near perfect! The only flaw foster mom can think of is he’s a pretty slobbery mess after he takes a drink of water. You might want 1, 2, or 3 rags handy to wipe his dribbly face to avoid slipping on your kitchen floors.
Leo will need a family who can dedicate time to his skincare routine. Someone who can wipe his face folds, paws, and everything in between to keep him nice and fresh.
He has so many fun quirks and the funniest personality you won’t help but fall in love with Leo!
While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted. Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above. Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications. All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes. Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters. Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.
All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.
We typically will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks, but we do notify all applicants of the outcome.
