Hi! My name is Lucy Lou, and I am looking for my forever home. I joined the rescue when my family made the tough decision to surrender me due to unforeseen circumstances. I have been a pet my whole life and come preinstalled with pet things like potty training, kennel training, walking on a leash with only a little bit of pulling, and basic commands. Everyone I have ever met has immediately become my best friend whether they were humans or doggos! I love being with people and snuggling, playing fetch, or trying to get the other pups in the house to play with me. One of my most favorite things is going for car rides! Maybe my new family could take me out for a pup cup??
I have an eye condition called Pigmentary Keratitis which requires eye ointment every day. It’s easy to give me my meds because they make me feel way better, so no worries there. A tube of my medicine is about $60 and lasts quite a while. I joined the rescue with a bare spot on my neck, but it’s a big nothing! The vet said my hair was just rubbed off and it should grow back soon!
I really enjoy being around people as much as possible, but I do have a tiny bit of separation anxiety because I love my humans so much. Foster ma and I are working on that and with time and consistency, I should learn to love my “me time.” I am still pretty young, so I do play with my mouth from time to time, so I would do best in a home with school age children.
Every day is the best day ever and I am ready to spend my days loving my new family! Apply today!!
While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted. Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above. Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications. All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes. Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters. Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.
All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.
We typically will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks, but we do notify all applicants of the outcome.
