Hello, I’m Margo and I would like to be inside your skin! What? No?? I suppose the couch will do.
I am a very happy, goofy girl and love to be glued to my foster mama’s side. I love all human attention, but am not shy about playing favorites. Wherever my people go, I’m there! When I got here they seemed to like the dog they already had, so I just copy her. Sometimes her face gets in the way when I’m jumping on the couch, but I just want to be close to her and she’s patient anyway. I do a lot of jumping and bumping off the people in my house. It’s good they’re soo big I can’t knock them over. The humans here like to play with toys. They squeak and throw them then look at me before they go fetch and try again, they must really want my approval!
When my foster parents are at work and sleeping I go in my crate. I used to bark to let them know they forgot me and sometimes I’ll have a quick howling session at night to let them know I’m still here. They always feed me in there so sometimes it’s the best place! I always get to go outside before I lay down in my crate and as soon as they let me out, that way I don’t forget. I LOVE water so any time I wander away from the action in the house my humans know to let me outside. I’m used to a fenced yard and don’t always potty when they take me on walks, but I would be willing to learn.
While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted. Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above. Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications. All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes. Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters. Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.
All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.
We typically will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks, but we do notify all applicants of the outcome.
