Moose is two years old, built like a meatloaf, and has a world class underbite. He is a level 10 clinger who is emotionally incapable of not following you from room to room like a slightly stalky, four-legged boyfriend.
He is as near perfect a dog as they come, which is especially impressive given that he spent the first 18 months of his life being neglected. He was kept completely indoors, so had not experienced the joy of the outdoors, and was near starvation when taken in by a kind woman with a big heart. But you’d never know any of that if you met him.
Moose is the absolute picture of Frenchie “energy”—mostly lazy couch potato mode
interspersed with and sudden play and zoomie enthusiasm! If he jumps up next to you mid-zoom, prepare to be body slammed!
Moose’s hobbies include staring at you adoringly, shamelessly clearing the room with his flatulence, lying in the sun while chewing his Benebone, snoring over the movie you’re watching on Netflix, and pretending he doesn’t understand personal space. (Spoiler Alert: He does not.)
He’s housebroken, crate-trained (goes in like a little gentleman, but prefers a treat for doing so), knows how to sit, is decent on a leash, doesn’t rush the door, and tends to bark only when engaged in play. Moose gets along famously with other dogs, cats, kids, Amazon delivery people, and the solicitors who show up at your door trying to sell you lawn services. Everyone who meets him, loves him!
Moose has no health issues, no weird phobias (won’t attack your vacuum), and
tolerates grooming (e.g., nail trims, teeth brushing) with ease. All he asks in return is
that you be obsessed with him, keep him well fed so he can maintain his sexy chunky shape, and share your blueberries. He really digs blueberries. If you share your bed with this goofball, don’t be surprise d to wake with his head next to
yours on the pillow.
Moose would do best in a home where someone’s around most of the time and would love a doggy sibling to play with. He is just a goofy, loving and loveable, snuggly meatball of a dog who wants to be wherever you are, all the time, forever.
Are you ready to be Moose’s emotional support human?
While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted. Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above. Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications. All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes. Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters. Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.
All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.
We typically will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks, but we do notify all applicants of the outcome.
