Pittsburgh came to Lucky Bulldogs through no fault of his own and he is a super good boy. He’s been a pet his whole life and has adjusted very well to being in our home. He’s four years old. *Ma, Ma, Foster Ma…git outta way. Nobody’s gonna want me if I let you write this…one word borrrinnngg* Okay, have at it Pittsburgh:
Hi! I’m Pittsburgh, silly boy, lovey boy, the goodest boy EVER!! I love to frolic around. My foster Pa calls me a bucking donkey just cause I get excited and hop around. Yes, I’ve had lots of love my whole life. I have two foster doggie siblings boy and girl and even though boy wasn’t exactly sure at first, he has accepted me into the pack and we all play together. I want to be everywhere my foster pawrents are, and I will often give them a tap tap tap with my paw until they give up the pets. Then I’ll flop over to get belly rubs…those are da best! I love to follow my foster siblings around because they know where the snacks are.I have a very easy going demeanor…I don’t get jealous or grumpy if someone gets near my food or if somebody else’s turn for pets.
I love my kennel and will sometimes go in there on my own to nap or sleep at night, but I also loooove hanging out in my hooman’s bed. Sleeping…in my kennel, in a bed, snoozefest on the floor, in my hooman’s arms/lap…I can and will do it anywhere. I have a favorite blanket…it’s a Steeler’s blanket of course. Potty training…check! I’ve only had one accident in the house and that was on the first day…just marking my territory. I sleep through the night with no accidents. Baths…easy peasy, I just sit there and enjoy the warm water and the scritch scratches. I currently have a large, fenced yard and believe me I know all the areas and they have secured it well. I like to pee on every bush, tree, blade of grass. I also will bark occasionally, usually only outside. Especially if a neighbor dog barks at me…but it’s just a friendly hello. I don’t need no toys, cause napping and pets are what I live for, but my foster ma is working on getting me interested in toys. Foster Pa just shakes his head when she brings a new one home that she’s sure I will love.
What else? I do have some itchy skin (I mean I am a Frenchie) but it’s healing up just great. The vet isn't quite sure what caused the rash, but depending on the time of year, I may benefit from a daily Zyrtec. High-quality food with good ingredients may have helped my skin as well. My family should plan on using what I am eating or finding something similar. Ohhhh I have the cutest brown puppy dog eyes…when I look at you, your heart will melt and you can’t help but give me lovies. It’s my secret weapon. Oh yes, I’m also quite agile. I can jump up on the bed, who needs stairs? Foster Ma has been insisting I use them to protect my legs. I just like to show off a little to my foster siblings. I do pretty good at sit and stay especially if treats are involved. So whatdya think? If you're ready for a snuggle bug, what are ya waiting for? APPLY! I’ve already got my bags packed.
While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted. Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above. Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications. All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes. Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters. Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.
All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages.
We typically will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks, but we do notify all applicants of the outcome.
