All About Rizz Skibidee Sigma

As a Furster Mama, I usually help my doggos write their bios, but sometime dogs are meant to write their own story.  I am just going to turn it over to Mr. Rizz because he could do a better job than I ever could.

Thanks Furster Ma!  I’ll take it from here.   Hey there, hoomans! I’m Rizz Skibidee Sigma, the one and only Rizz—your friendly, bouncy English Bulldog, chocked full of chaRizzma (see where I got my name?) here to tell you all about myself. As soon as my foster family met me, they knew my name should be Rizz.  Why? Because I’ve got enough charm to light up a whole dog park! Want to hear more?  I sure hope so!  Here’s the scoop on yours truly:

I am a very young 3 year old (which is a fancy way to say I still gots lots of energy!) who came to the rescue through no fault of my own.  What I do know is that I am practically perfect, or at least that is what I  have been told.  Lets dive in to what keeps my little light shining.  You know those tennis balls? Yeah, the fuzzy ones. Well, I live for those! Throw one, and I’ll sprint like a turbocharged bulldozer to fetch it. Repeat? Oh, I’m game! When I’m not chasing balls, I’m all about the cozy life. Sofa? Check. Blanket? Double-check. Human lap? Triple-check! Let’s snuggle up and binge-watch some movies but if you would rather watch reality tv, I wouldn’t judge. Maybe you could share some of that popcorn?  I mean I really LOVE popcorn! What else do I love? Other dogs!  My furster sisters are a bit older and don’t appreciate my attempts at playing.  I don’t understand their resistance to my rizz, but maybe any future fur siblings should be patient with all my energy.  The outdoors is my jam! Leash walks? Yep. Off-leash park adventures? Double yep. Fenced yard zoomies? Triple yep! Let’s chase squirrels and sniff all the smells. Well, I don’t actually chase squirrels or the rabbits in my foster yard, I’m much more concerned with looking for people to give me all the loves. Cats? Hmm, they’re like tiny, mysterious ninjas. I haven’t met one yet, but I’m open to negotiations. I’m sure all the felines will love me as much as everyone else does.  Speaking of love, I LOVE hoomans!  Kids, adults, grandparents—I adore 'em all! If I had a tail, I’d wag it so hard it might just fly off. Snacks? Ya, those are my favorite and I will do just about anything for some treats.  You bring the snacks and scratches and I promise to bring smiles, sloppy kisses, and hugs (I actually do give hugs – I know, as if I could be any more perfect). I’m a pro at doing my business outside. And guess what? I’m cool with my crate, but honestly, I’d rather share a big, squishy bed with you. Deal? 

One more thing about me:  So, I had this thing called a cherry eye. Sounds super scary, right? Well, the vet fixed it up, and now you would never know I used to rock the one-crazy-eyed wink.  I’m back to my handsome self now!

While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted.  Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above.  Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications.  All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes.  Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters.  Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.

All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages. 

We typically will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks, but we do notify all applicants of the outcome.
