All About Snickers

Snickers is your typical couch potato bulldog with spurts of energy- except when it comes to demanding snuggles. When she thinks it’s snuggle time her demands must be heard! If they aren’t, she is very persistent in trying to get into your lap- but with her small size who could say no!?

Her favorite pastime is eating, snacking, begging for snacks, chewing on bones or snoozing away on a nice comfy couch or bed. She is perfectly content in her kennel but even happier when up on a bed with a human and other dogs enjoying a good power nap. At any given moment she can be found happily sitting on the couch staring at her humans or out into the universe contemplating her existence….and probably her next meal. She is a sweet girl who is very laid back and is happy to share space or toys with the resident dogs in her foster home. She is good with kids of all ages and currently gets the VIP treatment by sleeping with her human foster brother and Frenchie foster sister. She has had no accidents over night and snoozes away buried in blankets all night. Snickers does have bouts of playfulness where she likes to play tug of war and thoroughly enjoys having an endless supply of chew toys throughout the house. You can find them strategically placed in every bed in her foster home (human and dog alike) as she lives by the “always be prepared” motto. 

Snickers does have a corkscrew tail. She has been evaluated by our veterinarian and her adoptive family must be on board with the care this will require. She will need her tail cleaned at minimum weekly. This can be done with a cloth, unscented baby wipes, or in times there is irritation medicated wipes. After cleaning the area will need to be dried thoroughly. Without proper care Snickers will have repeated irritation and/or infections.  Snickers recently had a benign lump removed from her ear.  Our Veterinarian didn't have any concerns about it coming back. 

While in foster care, all our dogs are thoroughly vetted.  Any discovered medical issues will be disclosed above.  Our Lucky Bulldogs (and their smushie-faced buddies) are cleared by their vet for adoption prior to us accepting applications.  All our dogs will be up to date on Rabies & DHPP vaccinations, up to date on Heartworm preventative after a negative Heartworm test, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out to their forever homes.  Often times, our dogs are given dentals and sometimes nare-widening surgery if needed while under anesthesia. All surgical and medical history we have will be shared with adopters.  Further details can be discussed with the foster volunteer during the phone interview for the applications that are chosen to proceed to the phone interview part of the adoption process.

All our dogs are crate trained unless otherwise noted on their "All About" pages. 

We typically will accept applications for our available dogs for 1-2 weeks except in cases of overwhelming popularity where we may stop accepting new applicants sooner. Once we have stopped accepting applications, we will review them and proceed with a phone call with our top applications to chat about the dog being applied for, go over the adoption process, and answer any questions the potential adopter has. After phone calls take place, we will decide on our top applicant choice and proceed to contact them to schedule a home visit (in person or via video chat), and check vet and personal references before the adoption is ready to be completed. This process can take up to 6 weeks, but we do notify all applicants of the outcome.
